It’s hard to find fun ways to spend a Saturday in the middle of January, in Utah. We get cabin fever pretty bad. This year’s remedy was the Winter Palooza at the South Towne Expo Center.
We got there in the middle of the afternoon, expecting the crowds to have died down a little. It was packed! We weren’t the only ones needing a cure for cabin fever. There were a lot of bouncy houses, and some other great activities for the kids to participate in.
My son’s favorite was the laser tag arena. I actually had a great time playing with him. It’s on the list for his birthday party this year. Or maybe even just an end of school party. Backyard parties actually has several options for a great birthday party. And reasonable prices. I rented a bounce house last year with a livingsocial deal, and paid more for the same amount of time as Backyard parties’ regular price.
We also watched a bit of the reptile show (but not too much because I don’t really like reptiles), and enjoyed the ropes course.
We wished we would have had more time to play. The lines were a bit long for the kids, and this cut down on some of our fun. I spent the whole time with my oldest going from one activity to the next. My husband perused the middle aisles with all the sponsor displays.
Next year, we will plan on having more time, and maybe try the morning to hopefully avoid some of the crowds.
I’m just excited I got to meet some of the great local companies and get some great ideas for our summertime fun!
How does your family cure the winter blues or cabin fever? What do you look forward to most in the summer?
I received complimentary tickets to attend the Winter Palooza in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own.
