Ok, this is super easy and super delicious and not super great for you, BUT it’s worth the calories in every bite! Mmmmmmm…sorry, what was I saying? I was dreaming of cheesy berry goodness melting in my mouth. Ok, here’s how to make this beautiful food. Great for breakfast, lunch or dinner, or dessert, or afternoon snack, also morning and midnight snacks…and maybe second breakfast!
1 tube Pillsbury crescent rolls
4 ounces cream cheese softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoons all purpose flour
1 cup fresh berries of choice (I used raspberries)
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoons heavy cream
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a small bowl, mix up the cream cheese, sugar, flour and vanilla. Set aside.
Pop open crescent roll dough and unroll, leaving crescents in rectangles. On a baking sheet or sil-pat, lay the crescent roll rectangles together and line them up width wise. Press edges together to even out edges and seal any holes. Cut 1/2 inch diagonal strips up each side of the dough. Carefully spread cream cheese filling down the center of the dough to be about 2-3 inches wide. Top with fresh berries. Fold little dough pieces up over filling alternating sides to get a braided pattern. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until filling is set and crescent dough is golden. Hopefully you can wait that long, because it will smell so good! While it cools down, mix up your icing. Once it’s at room temp, ice ice baby! Serve and enjoy…again and again and again!
