How to Make Hawaiian Snow

How to Make Hawaiian Snow

So, you may have gathered from previous posts, or from my bio to the left that I live in Hawaii. It’s our first Christmas here and while we are from California and aren’t used to snow anyway, it doesn’t really feel like December without a little chill in the air. I mean, it’s 79 degrees right now at 10:30 at night! I know, you’re all feeling bad for me right now I’m sure! We’ve been seeing pictures of all our friends and family snowed in on the mainland and were feeling a little jealous, so we decided to make our very own Hawaiian Snow! So, in case you live in one of those places where you don’t get snow, or you want to make snow in the summer, this is for you!

How to Make Hawaiian Snow:
4 cups of Baking Soda (They have giant bags of it at costco for $6…well worth your investment)
enough water to make a “snow-like” consistency (basically, you can form a snow ball)

Mix this all up and put it in your freezer for about 10 minutes to cool it down and you’re ready to play!

This is non-toxic and a pretty easy clean up if you’re outside (which, if it doesn’t snow where you’re at, is probably where you’ll want to do this)

I hired these cute models to play in the snow for me. Just kidding, they’re my kids!

Ok, non-toxic, but it might not taste great. Poor kid.

So now that I’ve made all of you who are snowed in hate me…I’m dreaming of a white Christmas!

I have 4 babies that keep me busier than I ever imaged and a fabulous husband who helps me run this circus that we call a family. I'm kind of a health food geek, but am trying to find the balance that works for a large family. I am blessed to call Paradise my home (Hawaii) and we are happy to be beach bums!
