30 Day Road Trip

A month long road trip, over 6000 miles, with my kids, in my mini-van, to see the country, learn some history, and have a whole lot of fun!

30 Days on the road this summer. A road trip with my kids!

So maybe I am crazy, but I just get so sick of being at home all summer long. We have plenty to do, but this summer I decided I wanted to take my kids to see the country.  I plotted a course, with lots of fun stops. And booked some hotels and campgrounds. I packed the van. Then we set out.

And you guys! Despite a few bumps in the road, we have had a lot of fun! I am really excited to share our trip with you. And so I will be breaking things up into stops, and days so you can see what we did. I will share some of the ways we saved money along the way, and my tips and recommendations for things to do and places to go with kids! And how you too can make an extended road trip not only possible, but absolutely fun!

Navy Pier is a fun stop on our 30 day road trip across the country!

Navy Pier, Chicago, IL

Now, before you start calling me crazy, or brave, or some other name, I want to let you know that while my hubby stayed home to work (so sad), I did take my little sister with me so I do have some help with my kids. So it is me, my four kids, and my sister, all in my mini-van, with a cargo carrier on top, and a whole lots of stuff packed in.

Where does our road trip take us? Below is our basic itinerary, and I will be sharing specific posts about our trip as we go and after I return, these will include things like where we stayed, what we ate, and how I kept 4 little kids entertained as we traveled around our great country! (Each one is linked to it’s specific post, so you can see family friendly activities at each stop, tips, and tricks):

Be sure to check back so you can follow along on our road trip and get all of the tips and tricks we have to share!

Nauvoo, IL is a great historic stop to make on a 30 day road trip!
